A Crucial Moment

Every presidential candidate is a joke. Our civil liberties are being stripped away. Art and personal expression are constantly being degraded to fit within arbitrary laws that pertain to nothing but profit for someone higher up that just doesn't give a fuck.

I don't know what is worse: The fact that we are obviously entering this dystopian future with little room for escape, or the fact that we (as a society - not as individuals) seem to be bringing it on ourselves with a general lack of concern.

People out there are using everything we create against us…all the while laughing with total lack of remorse while their dollar signs multiply. Art, music, film and literature are simply becoming nothing but a product for consumption and the monetary gain of someone higher up the financial ladder.

This does NOT just refer to the acquiring, listening and viewing of the content of "big names" such as Picasso, Spielberg, The Beatles, or Dickens on our computers or smartphones with or without rightfully paying for it. This also refers to US. OUR art. OUR Master's theses. OUR blogs. OUR dissertations. OUR books. OUR speeches. OUR opinions. OUR music…And how WE CHOOSE to distribute all of it.

This is a crucial moment in history. Do you want a say in how your creative output is made available to the public? Or do you want to let someone else decide for you?
